Pear Tree Cottage Design Seminars!!

For any DC area readers, I wanted to let you know about Pear Tree Cottage's Design Seminar Series. (For non-DC area readers, just enjoy the pretty eye candy ;) The super-sweet & creative owner, Frances Brayshaw has gotten together a group of local designers to do a month-long series of design seminars on every Sunday in September. I'm so excited to be a part of the series & am the first one up on Sunday, September 6th at 4:00 pm at the shop in Vienna. Spots are limited, so if you'd like to attend, email Frances at RSVP@ThePearTreeCottage.com

Pear Tree Cottage
130 Maple Avenue

I'm doing a workshop on arranging your accessories and will be starting with empty surfaces & demonstrating step-by-step how to create artful tablespaces, bookshelves & mantle arrangements.

Here's the schedule of Seminars:

Sunday, September 6 @ 4:00- Lauren Liess: Arranging Your Accessories

Sunday, September 13 @ 4:00- Toni Principe Korby: Defining the Look of Luxury

Sunday, September 20 @ 4:00- Kimberly Stein: From Photo to Finish

Sunday, September 27 @4:00- Rebecca Ilgenfritz: First Impressions: The Foyer

Everything in the shop is displayed so beautifully & they carry antiques & one-of-a-kind items as well as new items. The merchandise is always changing and it's one of those places you'll want to go to often to see what's new. (Not to mention you'll want everything in there!!!) Check out The Washington Spaces Blog for much more detailed description. (image below from Washington Spaces Blog)

It's going to be so much fun & I'd love to see some of you there!!! (It's my first time speaking in public since college so wish me luck!!- eeeeeek! ;) Again, spaces are limited & are booking up quickly, so email Frances at RSVP@ThePearTreeCottage.com to reserve your spot!!

Hope to see you there!!

xoxo,

lauren

Did you know you're the second person this week to mention the shop?! And I drive by it everyday - even this morning getting my coffee I said to myself that I needed to go there ASAP. I emailed her to sign up for the series but sadly can't make it Labor Day Sunday. Good luck and can't wait to hear how it goes!

How fun!! I am NOT a fan of speaking in front of groups either, but you know, it's so much easier when you're talking about something you love so much... you'll do great!!

Oh how fun for you and lucky for all the DC peeps.:) I would love to have a seminar like this here in SD. Is there any way you can video your lecture then post on your blog?

Oh that sounds so fun!!

Yes, I will keep you in mind on our travels and of we are near Tysons Corner area.....I am a little worried about the trip because David is organizing and he hasn't done much planning yet, haha. I planned the trip to Paris and he was supposed to plan this one, since it is a Civil War trip for him. We only have 10 days and he has about 80 things he wants to do. I planned the first 3 nights of stay in Washington. We arrive late on a Wed night and then we have all day Thursday and Friday to see the monuments, etc. And then we leave Saturday for a re-enactment somewhere. And then the driving and sightseeing begins. I am hoping to get some time on the Friday to do a bit of shopping either in Georgetown or Old Town ALexandria. But I also want to see all the DC stuff and so I am on the fence. I do hope at some point we will be passing by Leesburg or McLean or one of those towns where there are the outlets. I heard about outlet quality going down. Same with our outlets here - total junk. Clothes are paper thin, etc.

So...can you send me an email??? pricet@telus.net What town are you in...maybe you could give me your number and if I am anywhere nearby, I would totally look you up - even to meet for coffee, tea. We are there the weekend of the Eddie Ross flea, but I won't have time to attend (and no car to haul my finds, haha).

Ok, take care. I hope all is well and good luck with your seminar - how exciting. I bet you will do amazingly well. xoxo
