I'll give you a hint that my first college apartment looked like THIS:
eeeeeeeeek...
I wonder what happened to that wooden owl??
I have this weird feeling his head came off during a party...
Thanks so much to Emily for inviting me to participate in her series! It's been a lot of fun to read!!

I love the bamboo rod story -- I'm just impressed you have pics from your college apartment. I have memories, but no photos. They are permanently stamped in my mind. All of our furniture was rented from a store called CORT. Ugly to say the least and rented. Yuck, now that I think about it.

How fun...we are hoping over to check it out!

LOVE Now and Then...going to look now!

How fun! I just went over for a peek. I so love your home now. My style really has changed. I remember my first house more so than my first apartment. I was into black and white, colorful abstract art -- and very clean-looking tables and cabinets. Rather minimal. Now, I'm more traditional and decorate using finds and treasures. I feel comforted with "things" now. And, for good or bad, I have a lot of "things." Hope you're enjoying a nice summer.
I love that the green plants have been a constant!
Wow! What a difference!! I was so excited to see over on Emily's blog that you're a JMU grad...me too! Go Dukes :)
Thanks for being a part of the series, Lauren, and for your kind words. Loved your post :)
too funny but that bamboo curtain rod shows an artist in the making! My first apartment had the same dinky pics hanging above the sofa and, of course, a throw to hide the ugly couch. Thank goodness we have all evolved
Not so bad actually...we all had crappy college apartments. Sticky floors and make-shift privacy curtains. We did the best we could with what we had!
Lauren, that was so fun! I can still see the new Lauren in that old room - like you say - the plants, the nature, the relaxed natural look...
Too funny. I really must find some photos of my old places. At least you had pictures on the wall...

I'm pretty sure even in college you had good taste - let's check this out…
