So pumped

I'm so excited about this Victorian wing chair I found at Miss Pixie's in DC.  I have been meaning to get there for the longest time but just haven't gotten out.  Several clients of mine have mentioned that I "had to go" and I'm so glad they did!  Just last week a client sent me a link to Miss Pixie's website for a possible piece in her own home and as I was scrolling through the items for sale, this chair caught my eye and has since come home with me:

Although I think the current fabric is pretty, it's not what I'm going for and so I'm having it reupholstered in something else for a new project of ours that I'm working on.

{Of course I love that green velvet in back!!}

Will keep you posted!!

xoxo, Lauren

I absolutely love that chair! I would have bought it too. I know what you mean by the fabric, although it is beautiful--especially the green velvet back.

What a great find! It has some kind of Dorothy Draper meets Alice in Wonderland feel to it. You're going BOLD with the upholstery, I hope ;) It just seems to need something dynamic to hold up to those strong curves. Whatever you do with it - it's sure to look fabulous, Lauren.

Love it. Can't wait to see what you choose? I bet you keep the back then add like vintage grain sack on the front. Whatever you do, it will be beautiful!

I love the chair already but with new upholstery you can make it stylish & sexy. Really curious about your choice of fabric.

Like the others, I'm anxious to see what you do. I like the decorative tacks but that is sooooo labor intensive but you don't seem like a gimp girl either.

I love this chair! I still regret not getting a similarly shaped chair at our flea market months ago. It's funny, but the chair fabric is the same as my parent's living room sofa fabric from the 70's (which they still have, by the way). So, I would change it too!

Love your blog!
