A Big (scary!!) Step

Eeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!! We bought a minivan!!!! Since our family's growing (below) and our other car was on its way out, we replaced it with a MINIVAN. It was actually a really frightening step for us... a minivan... that means we're grown-ups ... Being young parents, we're definitely the only ones we know with a minivan... You wouldn't think this mattered to us, but it did. We found one that sort of looks like a cross between a truck & a van, but as my uncle said, "Who are you kidding???? It's a X%@*!ing minivan." hahahah

BUT... I have to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I've never been so excited about a car in my life!! I can't believe how easy it is to get Christian in & out of the car seat & to fit everything in the car. Life actually got easier and that's good. A minivan, who would have thought? C'est la vi!

Next week I'll be back to blogging- have so much to catch up on- I've missed you all like crazy!!!
xoxo,
lauren

Congrats on being a "grown-up".
You can get a little sports car after your kids are grown. I did!!
Welcome back. We missed you too.

You will REALLY love it when it's raining and you can easily get to the baby or children w/o getting soaked, or when you are traveling and the one in the passenger seat can help the children while the other parent is driving....congrats on your new purchase!

I used the word "blouse" yesterday. I must be an adult because the same article of clothing used to be a shirt.

It's hard to face reality, isn't it? We're adults. Ick.

Look at the bright side... you can also fit furniture in it. Just think of the tag sale finds!

Yeah for you! It's cute! We rented our first minivan on vacay this past spring, and I just loved it! With 3 kids, it was so much easier and kid friendly than our big Yukon! By the end of the vacation, I was ready to downsize...our Yukon to a minivan and our Greyhound to a pocket purse dog! Ha! Neither happened! :)

just took the plunge myself and I have to say I love my mini too! After the initial shock - I wouldn't travel any other way!

A minivan will be perfect - child, baby in a car seat, groceries, furniture, bolts of fabric, rolls of wallpaper, a rug... all tucked snuggly in the back. It'll be great!

Besides... you're setting the standard for all of your friends. They'll want one, too... just you wait and see!!

I'll be back to read your updates. If you have time, drop by DesignTies and read the post I wrote on Michelle Morelan ;-)

Hi! I'm a new reader to your blog but I had to laugh that we are living similar lives. I have a 2 year old daughter and we just welcomed a baby boy on June 21st. Guess what we just bought two weeks ago? Yup, a minivan! Welcome to the club! I, too, can't believe how much I like it. Here's to minivans!

I think the minivan may be my next car too. I have friends who went from Mercedes and Range Rovers to minivans and they absolutely love it. Whe you have two it's all about convenience and hands free and dual ac controls. LOL

I am LOL! You sound like my daughter! She held out for five years and once she got hers she LOVED it, too. Congrats on growing up! Hugs ~cindy s~

lol, when I read your blog title I was thinking you'd decided to go all experimental on us and paint your bedroom some bright purple or something (!), but a minivan is cool! I second the comment about fitting in more finds from shops/yardsales etc (until kid# 3 or 4 comes around!) (hehe).
great to have you back!

Oh, we had mini vans for years and years (five kids, now grown), they're great family cars! You are going to love it!
Now my husband is on to big trucks that he can drive onto the beach right up to the ocean's edge!
Lots of Luck!
All the best,
Eileen

That is the sexiest minivan I have ever seen! Wow, my sister needs to get one fast! Congrats!

Congratulations on the mini van.
I had one for a while and the kids loved it.
Unfortunately, I could never get used to the size and kept banging it into things (poles, parked cars, but fortunately nothing moving!). So, now I have a station wagon. My kids still miss that minivan!

So funny! I also thought I would NEVER drive a minivan and was actually offended when someone told me in college that they could totally see me having one later in life. But we've had ours a year now and I love it too! It's a Honda Odyssey and we've always had Honda Accords so the switch wasn't too bad. :) It is so nice when it's raining and I can just hop in with the girls and buckle them in while I'm inside!

Wow! We rented one on a trip and couldn't believe how much it stored.

I can't tell from the front that it's a mini. Must be a new design?

Cheers to convenience!
