Snow-Quiet

I love waking up to fresh snow.  We got a little bit here and my husband, a high school English teacher, has a two-hour delay so we were able to chill for a bit before starting the day.  My favorite part of our bedroom is our view of the back yard.  On mornings like this I like to open the shades, lay in bed, and watch it get light.  (ok, honestly I'd probably rather be sleeping but today wasn't one of those days.)

{"Fariy dust" on everything}

It's still quiet out.  Snow-quiet.

It's that time right after it snows when it's so quiet you can almost hear it.
I love that.
If I drank coffee, now would be a good time to do it.

Have a beautiful one!

xoxo, Lauren

Lauren- Beautiful and serene photos. We have that snow scene outside our window, too this morning - but much deeper!

My high school teacher husband has the whole day off!

Loretta

p.s. if you want the full day off next time, have your children wear their pajamas inside-out and backwards. Also throw an icecube out a window the night before.

It is beautiful! We don't get it often along the coast of NC, but we were blessed with almost 7 inches on Monday. What a gift, snow quiet.....I like that. Have a great day!

We are in the midst of a huge snow storm here in MA. It to is very quiet. School was cancelled yesterday in anticipation and my daughter is lounging and reading on her Nook. I just did a post about my photo's and added some snow scenes from this morning. Everything is so very lovely right now! Stay warm!

Lauren, I love these pictures... so peaceful and magical. We had our fingers crossed for an entire day off but I think 2 hours is a perfect amount of time to slow down the usual morning circus : )

By the way, the mirror is perfect! You were right, 'a bit down from where you think it should be' was exactly the right spot.

Yay!!

Isn't it wonderful!? My husband had a two hour work delay too and we took a snowy hike in a little nature reserve nearby. We were the first ones there to check out the deer and little animal prints in the snow! It is wonderful!

I also wanted to tell you that I found your blog right before Christmas and I have so enjoyed reading ever since. This is kind of embarrassing, but I am so enthusiastic about your work that I recently blogged about your business. I hope you don't mind.

I too am a twenty something and I have artistic talent---but when it comes to pulling a room together (with a budget) it is painfully slow because I don't really know what I am doing though I love interior design.

Your fresh and honest perspective as well as design talent is such an encouragement to someone like me who has a style and wants a lovely home but is just having a hard time getting there. Thank you!!

Beautiful pictures! We get so much snow where I live that sometimes I get sick of it! I like to look at it when I'm inside, but hate driving in it! Stay warm!

Snow is so peaceful and quiet, isn't it? I live on a busy street so I always know when it has snowed. I don't hear any traffic (or the traffic is muffled and moving slow....) then I know I get a snow day! (I'm a teacher too!) Last night it snowed a lot, but then it rained by morning and was a mushy mess. We didn't even get a late start. ;(

Are you in the Pacific Northwest? I live in Seattle and I rejoiced in the snowfall on Tuesday night. Even though it interfered with my radio interview on Wednesday morning. Oh well! I love your back yard. I often wish I lived in a little bit less of an urban area so I could have a yard and trees like yours. Beautiful photos!

How pretty! We had quite a bit of snow here in NC this week as well. My yard is still white! The large cypress tree in my yard was my favorite with all the lovely snow on it, looked like a Christmas tree in the mountains to me. :) And that cup of coffee while watching the snow fall was the BEST! You were right about that.

We are suppose to get more snow next week here, I live about 15 mins from South of the Border if you know where that is, not sure if you guys are getting it up there as well.
