{Love fig trees!!}
Last week we got to stop over to see our friend Debra Phillips at Scentimental Gardens in Geneva, IL and I was in Heaven!! {Debra also recently opened up another store on Grand Ave in Chicago and writes the blog 5th & State. } Debra & Sarah (below) greeted us at the shop and they are so warm & sweet. Debra's amazing with kids & even gave Christian an adorable little concrete turtle he promptly named "Sammy."
{Sarah & Debra}
I was totally in love with this room and wanted pretty much everything in it. The slate tile floors were hidden underneath blah carpeting when Debra first moved in.
How adorable are the chalkboard signs/ labels? (below) What a cute way to label a drink.
Check out the industrial tabe below (mm mm!) and lately I've also been been loving silhouettes.
And here's one last photo at Scentimental Gardens of us all before a yummy lunch:

While we were in Geneva, we also stopped at the butterfly house at Peck Farm. Christian's been very into butterflies lately (there's a Little Einstein movie about them) and loved it:
I thought this one, called a "Julia," was awesome:
If you can get to Geneva, it's so worth it!! ... Lots of great shops & an adorable town and of course you have to stop in and see Debra!! (And the butterflies if you're into that) One of the things I love most about blogging is making & meeting new friends. It's so much fun to be with other design junkies & to feel like you already know someone before you've even met them.

I'm so jealous! I use to live in Rockford so I would go shopping in Geneva as often as I could. So many amazing shops and I would love to visit Debra's shop! Looks like you had a great time!
This shop looks heavenly! I could definately shop there! I love silohettes too and would love to have had one of my daughter when she was litt (missed my chance). You should get one done for your little ones ASAP! Looks like you are enjoying your visit! Have fun!
On my list to meet Debra and to go to Geneva,IL.
I cannot believe how big your boys are!!! (already!)

I think I could get lost in that beautiful shop for hours. Nah, make that days.
You are just the most beautiful family!
I'm lucky enough to live in St. Charles, next door to Geneva. SG is a wonderful store! Debra also owns SG Too in St. Charles, which sells marked down items from SG. If you're in the area, don't forget to check out 610 Home, Artemesia, and Stonehouse on Cedar.
Great post! We are huge fans of silhouettes!

I wish I had known you were coming. I live near Geneva and it would have been fun to meet you & your lovely family.
I'm loving silhouettes too....there is an adorable baby & kid boutique near my house having a silhouette event where this lady comes and cuts one of your kids in black paper and it is framed in an oval just like those in the photo....so cute! Definitely getting one of my daughter!
Also on my list to meet Debra and see both her shops. I would have loved to go for the opening. Looks like you all had a great time.
Looks fun! I wanted to have silhouettes done of my kids, but it was expensive. I followed the idea on another blog, and took profile pics of each child to start. Then my techy husband went into photoshop and did a curve adjustment to make each photo all black. I printed them at home, cut them out, traced them onto black construction paper with a white crayon, cut that silhouette out, and attached it to white paper. Then I framed them in black oval frames. Didn't take too long, and cost was minimal!
Fabulous looking shop, I love picking about in places like that. Since I’ll be in Chicago next month I’ll have to stop by. Thank you for sharing and beautiful family you have, your boys are adorable. (Nice to see your stunning face without the yard weeds on it….lol.)
Your posts are always a joy to read. And the pictures -- do you take them all yourself? They're always gorgeous! Thank you....
So great that you were near by Chicago,, to bad we didn't get to connect :)
