I Got a Feva!

It Sounds Warmer Out...

This morning when I woke up, it was just a little better.  My shades were down but I could hear the birds!!  Chirping like they should be!!  (Under the crying/ yelling of my two year-old who had just woken up on the wrong side of bed in his bedroom.)

There was more light at 6:40 AM than yesterday and it's seeming to get better each morning.  Could it really be here??

I'm afraid to open the shades, because I know there will be puddles of muddy snow and a mudpit of a yard to look at, so for now I'm just chillin in bed with #1 (Christian, our 2 year-old) and I hear #2 (Our two-month old, Justin) starting to squalk in his nursery.

I don't know about you but I'm so ready for these:

...  I did see red buds on our maple tree last week so it's on its way!!!

Are you as ready for Sring as I am???

When I was a little kid, my grades used to drop a little in the Spring.  I looked out the windows more and rushed through my homework.  In the second grade, my teacher, Sister Marian, called my mom in for a chat about my grades.  (They were usually straight-As but she'd noticed that my work wasn't as good.)   She thought maybe my parents' divorce was having an effect on me.  (I was 2 years old when they'd split up so it had been 6 years and honestly I'd never known what life was like with married parents.)  My mom listened patiently and then simply explained that I got a little less into school in the Spring.  Call it "Spring Fever" if you will,  but it's almost got me now.  (And it "gets me," it's that strong.)  I can't wait!!

Anyone else got a feva???

xoxo,
lauren

ps- I need more cowbell!!  (Saturday night Live)

Yes! This time of year always has me feeling itchy for spring! I've been wistfully looking through gardening magazines & dreaming of the day I can get out there & get my hands dirty. Hang in! It's almost here. I can feel it!

Lauren, I am so with you on this. The sun is out today and my mood is much better as a result! Cannot wait until the playgrounds are inhabitable again!!!!!!

I'm with you too. After being buried in all this snow, I've had enough! I've got my eye on the dogwood tree out in the backyard. It might be time to force some of those branches inside.

Yes....but it soooo hard to get past the the snow on the ground and on my roof!

Amen! Every day I go out to check on the status of my spring bulbs. The tulips are about 1/4" out of the ground--that's a long way from blooming. ):

Oh, well. It surely makes the flowers brighter and more needed when they do finally show up, eh?

It was 40 degrees in Chicago yesterday and I almost took off my coat - I'm so used to bitter cold that anything above freezing felt like spring indeed! I could frame that first picture it's so cheerful! Marija

I know exactly how you feel! I have been buying tulips and waiting for the snow to melt. We are in Baltimore and the forecast is calling for 55 this weekend and I am going to make a day out of it!

So ready for spring! Actually went shopping for some items that would cheer up these gloomy winter days. I did a post on some of my finds. My fave is my new Tori Burch bright blue wallet. It feels so good to see that pop of spring every time I need my wallet.

I actually am starting to see some bulbs coming up! Yeah!

I am so ready! We are getting a pool started in our backyard in a few weeks and have started clearing out some things in our side yard so that we can create a secret garden. I think having a seven-year-old makes me appreciate the warm weather even more because of the joy she gets running around outside after being trapped in the house all winter.

And yes, we definitely need more cowbell baby!

I am the same way in the Spring! And the only cure is more cowbell. :)

My tiny daffodils are blooming. They must have a different name than the taller ones, but I don't know it. Dallas was 62 yesterday and sunny. What a great promise of what is to come. Give me Spring.

Down here in Southern Maryland we have had a hard winter but today with the sun out, I head to the nursery to plant some seeds. Gonna blog about it later, my easter tablescape.

Puts me in the mood for spring.

Yes! to both spring and more cowbell;)

This morning I went to the garden center and bought some wheat grass o grow indoors to usher in spring. It just felt like it was on it's way this morning, and I needed to be a part of it! A little sun makes all the difference in the world.

I got it bad! On Tuesday, I planted tomatoes, cabbage, herbs in our raised bed garden up north. Hopefully, it wasn't too early, but if Home Depot sells them, then it must be time. It was good to get dirt under my fingernails!

I've got it too!

The sun has been out all week, and I can hear the snow melting right now! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!!!

Spring is my favorite time of year. All the flowers that new spring green the grass gets on the hills. I am in Calif so we get ours earlier,(sorry) I am going to the nursery today to get some flowers for my flower bed, the tulips bit the dust in the last rain. Sometimes I go to the nurseries just to browse and look at all the happy flowers. They make me smile!! Here's to wishing you Springtime flowers, birds singing and sunny skies, Kathysue

Boy, did you strike a note! And we all have it bad! {Don't we?} I just this minute, {really, truly} finished telling my husband that I want to go camping! What?! I know!

Says he, somewhat suspiciously, {fully expecting that I want to rent a cabin or something else ludicrously expensive} . . . "What kind of camping?" Says I, "Tent camping. I want to hear the birds, and hear my steps crunch on the ground, and listen to the streams burble, and sit and read a book while you fish. . . "

Yup. Got it bad.

Love your picture of the robin. Flocks of robins have been visiting our meadows at the farm for the past 2 weeks. That's a sure sign that Spring is on its way. Can't wait for the wild arching branches of our forsythia to bloom. Love to see their bright yellow blossoms while standing at my kitchen sink.

OH Hurry Springtime!
