My favorite smell depends on the season - lilly of the valley in the spring/summer and paper white narcissus in the winter!

That rug is so pretty!
A few of my favorite smells: Freshly cut grass, the smell of summer rain, vanilla, the Starbucks aroma when you open the door and get the first smell of the coffee, lemons and oranges...I guess I have a few!

My first reaction is citrus, anything citrus-y! But after reading these previous posts, I remember how much I love the smell of clothing hung outside to dry! With the dreary weather here in New England this spring (& Summer!), I haven't been able to take advantage of that old-fashioned pleasure!

My favorite smell is something "clean". Something like clothes being dry outside.

I subscribe to you but will follow as well. ;)

Love the rug! It'd be perfect on my back porch. :)

My favorite smells...agree with you on the honeysuckle (especially driving through back roads in Virginia), anything with lavender, my husband's cologne, and the smell that hits you when you walk inside after having a crock pot going all day.

I'll have to plant one when we find a house to buy!

Wow that is a hard one to answer since I love so many smells, I guess the smell of fresh cut grass and I love the smell of little puppies (weird... I know). As for an actual scent, Walmart has a candle called Pineapple Fusion that smells so good. Love it.

I've been subscribed to you for months, but it didn't make me a follower :-( so I re-upped officially again today. My favorite smell is something few people outside of the southwest are familiar with- pinon wood burning in a fireplace or stove ~ nothing like it on a crisp fall day or winter night....

Hi Lauren:

I'm already a follower and enjoy your blog. I love how it shows up in my Dashboard and I don't have to go looking for it :)

Favorite smells...there are so many really...fresh coffee, mowed grass, lilacs, even dirt. I love it when my dog has been out digging and she smells like soil! I'm also a big fan of garlic cooking in butter.

Lately, I've become a big fan of lemon verbena. I've been getting soaps and lotions in that scent and really enjoy it, so I guess I'd have to go with that.

My favorite smell is gardenia. When on medical leave taking care of my very ill father this Spring in Florida, the gardenia bushes were blooming. When Mom and I would take walks, she told me how much she loves this scent. She would stop and get blooms from her neighbors bushes and bring them home so we could smell them all day. You cannot touch the blooms themselves or the flowers will die right away. My father was hospitalized three times, had two surgeries. He also had a heart attack after the first surgery while Mom and I were in the room. He is better now, although his recover is slow. He is 84 and Mom is 82. Thank you for your beautiful web site which I read daily.
