On a Whim

"On a Whim" is a beautiful little store in a converted barn in Lucketts, Virginia right before you get to the Old Lucketts Store & Lucketts Design House. You can't miss the polkadotted siloh!! The owner, Donna, and her daughter are as sweet as can be when you go in there & they have handpicked their dealers with a beautiful an eye for display.

I think they will soon be selling online so check back!! I'm off to run out to go clothes shopping (you know you buy too many things for the home when you have to say, "clothes shopping." haha It's been so long since I've bought clothes & some of you bloggers out there have gotten me in the mood for some goodies!! ;) but I think these pics speak for themselves. Enjoy the "shopping trip!" ;) (ok, one thing-- i LOVE this chandelier!!! )

Hope you enjoyed checking out this awesome store!!! The prices are amazing & it's always changing!!

xoxo,

lauren

I LOVED the polka dots. What a great starter picture. And I actually have those blue and white balls. My husband HATES my fascination with balls...that sounds so dirty, but I hope you know what I mean...wicker balls, grass balls, etc. :)

Can't wait to hear more about this store, especially its Internet presence.

You have the cutest home decor shopping places near you! I swear I would be at these places everyday! I saw multiple things I could buy in each picture so I hope they go online, that would be awesome.

And I have to say the same thing about clothes shopping, because when I say just shopping it usually means home items too :)

Have fun clothes shopping- xoxoxo

This is so funny because I have been there and I bought several things (my desk, a table for my son's room and a stool for my daughter's room!). We used to live in Charlottesville and would pass this GREAT store on our way to PA sometimes. I LOVE on a whim and feel sad that i will likely never be there again because their selection AND their prices are incredible!!!!!
It is such a small world. Thank you for posting about this little gem.

What a fun store... looks like you had fun! :-) Did you bring anything home? I like the furniture best, I think... particularly the little pale green bedside table and the yellow china cabinet.

What a fun spot! I would go there for inspiration or to escape every day responsibilities once in a while!

I have passed on a friendly award to you over at hill country house. It was given to me - a sweet gesture but a bit of work to pass on, so do with it what you wish - no obligation!

Enjoying your blog and happy to have found you!

Great blog, honey...I love it! And you are button as a button! Hi, My name is Meme....I would like to personally invite you to both of my blogs...Screaming Meme and Project:{Create A Home}....Screaming Meme is a decorating blog that I created to share my career as an Interior Decorator and Model Home Stager, as well as, share ideas and how to's on decorating, faux painting and getting a professional look on a shoe string budget!...It is all about decorating over there! I then created Project:{ Create A Home}...I envisioned a blog that women could all share in...Where we could come together and learn everything from decorating our homes to stepping out and learning new things that we always wanted to learn but didn't have the road map...Project: {Create A Home} is that road map! We have decorating, organizing, cooking, finance, technical/computer knowledge, family rearing, relationship advice, spirituality and uplifting wisdom...just to name a few...I hope you get a chance to stop in and look around...And if you have something that you want to share...Something that we could learn from you...Well, we would love to talk to you! :) I look forward to getting to know you! You must live in NOVA or at least in Loudoun County - you have shown one of my favorite stores - the other being Lucketts. Now that I live in Ashland (outside Richmond), when I go to my sister's house (Ashburn), our first stop is always "Mecca" - referring to both Whim & Lucketts! Such wonderful stuff and just the nicest people!

I can't believe that I live in Charlottesville and am actually considering a trip up to this place simply based on your photos! What a gem!

To the Upstart - both stores are worth the trip and will take a good chunk of your day. You can then go into downtown Leesburg and spend more $$$ - its a always a fun day and my sister & I always have a great time.

Both stores are on Route 15 North, just outside of Leesburg - you can mapquest it!

Hey did you see the post over on AT about Lucketts- I bet they took the idea from you :) xoxox

I have a college friend who just left Leesburg for Purcelville...because Leesburg was getting too crowded! Haha...it's such a hot spot these days. They say Loudoun is the fastest growing county in the region and the per capita income is higher than Fairfax's!

Anyway, I saw the AT post today...not the first time they've "lifted" something from another blog. You'd think they'd wait a few days to do it, though.
