I'm a decorator who loves things simple, relaxed and natural... "perfectly imperfect" if you will. My husband, (and college sweetheart) David, and I run an interior design studio and a textile company, Lauren Liess Textiles, in Virginia (just outside of Washington, DC) where we live with our three boys- Christian, Justin and one-year-old Luke.
"Home" is really important to me and I'm constantly thinking about how it affects our quality of life. It's the little details that make a home feel loved and easier to live in that I'm interested in. Details that make you smile or go "aahh" (that's a sigh not a scream ;) when you walk through the door or sit down to eat at a table. These moments are different for all of us, and I love figuring out what's right for my home and for my clients' homes.
Perfection doesn't interest me. Reality and charm do. Fresh floppy flowers from the garden over long-stemmed roses any day, I love it when things are slightly off and tell a story.
I hope you'll come along with me as I share my random thoughts on "home," my clients' projects and what's going on at our house. Not always smooth, but always something!
{I've gotten lots of questions & emails about virtual interior design & we're in the process of making this service available and will be taking clients for the waiting list very soon!}

***Also, I hope you can understand that I don't do solicited blog posts about people or companies & products I don't personally use. Due to time (or lack therof) I'm unfortunately unable to respond to email inquiries of this nature & hope you can understand! Please keep me off your media lists. I mean this with no disrespect & wish you the best of luck! Thank you!!
