OH. MY. GOSH.

We spent the weekend moving & it was crazy.  Really really crazy.

We moved into this:

(Well, minus the boxes...  We threw them there in an attempt to get some normalcy happening upstairs.)

Our new house is pretty much down to the studs.

{You can spy our kitchen through the dining room in this pic.  We're expanding the kitchen 2 feet closer into the dining room & a wall will be going back up.}

There's a lot of this (below) going on because we're trying to live here through the construction.

(our foyer, quarantined ;)

We live up here now:

{The upstairs loft living room.  There are 2 bedrooms & a bathroom off of the living room.  Dave & I are squatting in baby Luke's nursery for now.   We're eating most meals outside or at the little table on the left.  }

We still have a few things at our old house to do & touch-ups there of course, but we're almost completely done.  It's pretty surreal.  I haven't really had a minute to think about all of the design decisions I need to make for the new place.  There are sooooo many coming up that I'm really excited about but I've got too much other stuff on my plate to even really go there right now.  I'm trying not to delay anything constuction-wise!!

And....
 we have a new office!

Check it out:

(The Garage = stylin' new digs for Lauren Liess Interiors ;) ;)

rigggggght.

Although I'm kind of in love with working basically-outside.

Here's my new spot:

We epoxy'd the floors last week before moving everything in.
My job was to sprinkle the sparkles.
(I had waaaaaaay too much fun with that.)

Have a great week!!! I'll keep you posted!

Hi Lauren - So exciting! I'm wondering, how hard was it to do the epoxy?

Wishing you all the bet with your move! Can't wait to see the magic you will create here....and it is only fitting that the magic begin with sparkles!

yes, moving is so much work!! Nearly 4 months for me and I'm still not totally' there' but it's all a process, you don't have to do it ALL overnight! congrats, guys!

I can't wait to see how you put it all together, I love your work (and that Danish mod sofa, Anthropologie?).

Wow! What you guys do to a house! ;)
That demolition job sure went fast -- it looks like a tornado went through! I hope you were able to get all the moving done around that storm, which actually did produce a tornado in our area over the weekend! Anyway, the fun part starts, and your upstairs is starting to look like home! Best wishes in the new house!

Woaw, I don't have kids, so I can't imagine how is like to move and go through a renovation with three of them in the house! I'm curious about it...
I've been latelly thinking of how I'm going to accomodate one -once I decide to get to the task anytime soon-, so thinking of three, a renovation and a business to run seems like a superwoman job to me... :)
Your loft room looks sooo pretty! Is it the first time I see that leather coach in your home? (sorry if I missed something...) It looks great!
Can't wait to see how your space evolves!

Wow, you are a bundle of energy! It looks like you have adapted well to living in a construction zone. Temporary living arrangements can be so much fun, because everyday something new is getting made.

I cannot wait to see everything as it comes to completion. Good luck!

Having lived through remodeling more than a few times (my contractor says I'm a serial remodeler), it's awful, but the result is ALWAYS worth it!

It's a whirlwind but too new to be sick of it .. YET ;) ;)

I found the sofa at Anthro. Got a nice discount. (It was the floor model & we have a lovely "65" scratched into it but that 65 saved me some cash!! ;) ;)

I love seeing this, its how we all do it......the craziness, the living out of small rooms...it makes the final result that much sweeter.

Exciting! Thanks for updating us. I hope when you have more time you will give more details about the epoxy floor. That's what I'd like to do in our basement.

Lauren,

Good luck! I am sure it is exciting Nd a pain but it is going to be worth getting it done. Looking forward to seeing the evolution.

Lauren- Yeaaaa! Wow, you are camping out in your own home! But you make it look so GOOD! (But it can't be too easy...)

And the office looks really cool, actually - can you open the garage door and work outside?

Can't wait to see more progress downstairs!

I feel your pain except I dont have three young boys to take care of in the midst of it. We are coming to the end of living in the house during a remodel and it has not been fun but the end result just might be worth it. Cant wait to see what you do with the new space.

Yay!! Glad you guys are in! Good luck with everything.. how are the kids doing with all the mess? My son would be in everything!

How exciting for you and your family! Congratulations on your new home. I'm with the comment from e.horn above...love that leather couch of yours!

Best of luck with the move and the construction! I love that hammered silver desk in the office. Hope you can finish with the old house soon, so you're free and clear to design the new one. We can't wait to see what you do, and know it'll be fantastic.
So cool you're hubby didn't have to go back this school year! Mine is a retired teacher, and still gets excited over snow days...

When I got to the picture of the upper living room, I though it was a joke for a minute and you were going to be all, Ha ha I wish. But no, you really are all styled and arranged in that room! I guess that's living proof of how you're a real designer ;-)
