...Was wondering this morning how in the world we could have finished off a whole gallon of milk yesterday? (The kids got oatmeal with water for breakfast.)...
...Until my assistant came in and asked me why the milk was on the shelf???
(I really didn't even notice it there.) Ah vell.
Off to the grocery store!
ps- I'll be sure to post a few progress pics of the rooms we had redone! (Undecorated as of now)
Haha, that definitely can happen when you're busy! I opened a box of soup the other day, and then put it back in the cabinet, instead of the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteI love your image. It took me a minute to spot the milk on the shelf.
ReplyDeleteo vell is vright.
happy friday-

I am so freaking laughing.....I thought this was something done by women who are fifty and losing their minds!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Hilarious!!! I know how you feel. Took me a second to find it. Kind of like Where's Waldo. xo
ReplyDeleteOh too funny! I put a frozen bag of broccoli in the cabinet once. The crazy part is I almost did it again.
ReplyDeleteAhh ...the stuff of life... especially with kids :-) Can't tell you how many times I too have found the milk in the oddest places. What a great reminder that we aren't alone and perhaps that milk can make a great decorative accessory ;-)

Lauren- Too Funny! I always put the milk in the freezer! Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteThe white milk does blend in so nicely...

It totally matches your decor...could pass for modern art! I do this all the time. I also put stuff in the fridge that doesn't belong there. Tired!
ReplyDeleteHa! It took me awhile to spy the milk! Sorry you didn't get to use the rest of the gallon!! I agree with the commenter above me....it almost could pass for mod decor!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

Too funny! This always happens to me when I am unloading the groceries and re-giggling things in the fridge or freezer - I'll find limp un-frozen waffles on top of the fridge.
ReplyDeleteToo funny Lauren!! I do this and put cold items in the cabinet and vice versa! (well not often) You know what I mean though!

I didn't even notice the milk until I got to the end of the post and saw that I must be missing something. So I spent just a minute getting mad that when things are crazy at your house the kitchen looks perfect and at mine the sink would be overflowing with dishes. But now I know that when times are nutty you leave milk out in your otherwise spotless kitchen ;)
ReplyDeleteCourtney- don't worry!! Why do you think the pic doesn't include my kitchen sink?!! ;) ;) (mine's full to!)
ReplyDeletexoxo,
lauren
If it is any consolation we have all done it. It is definitely time to slow down when this happens.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha, glad you saw the humour in it

I had to smile at your post. A few years ago I was cooking rice in one pot and soup in another. Whilst destracted by a demanding 3 year old, I strained the soup down the drain instead of the rice!!! Needless to say the family were not too happy at dinner time!!! lol x
ReplyDeleteArranging room or kitchen is very hard duty for me. I am too much lazy to do it, But your post is best for inspiration. I will arrange my kitchen stuffs as per my idea.

Woooo! 'Jilly' is going to use your design 'inspiration' and stick milk on the shelves? Ah SPAM the internet would be a much quieter place without you.
ReplyDeleteBack to your post - I suppose you could call it a hazard of an all-white decor! Just think, you might not have seen it yourself until it got a green tinge to it (eewwww, just kidding).
I can so see myself doing this!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
At least it made it into the house. I have left the milk in the trunk overnight....!
ReplyDeleteCute... NOT sure you were thinking the same, but i even had to take a doubletake to even notice.... Guess it doesnt really matter, at least you had enough humor to post the image ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Laugh out flipping loud on that one!!!!
ReplyDeleteI went to the super market the other day and came home with a trunk full of groceries......shame they never made it into the house. The next day when I was the loading the kids up for school, I noticed my groceries in the back of the car! Totally forgot!
ReplyDeleteOur busy minds are in over dirve! Thanks for the chuckle! Your milk was like a "where's Waldo scene....It took me awhile to see it (but that is coming from the gal who left her groceries in the back of the car!

I've done things so similar....And when I went to visit a friend in Holland, I was looking for a piece of chalk -- to use to write on her board. But in the process, I found her package of cheese in the desk drawer. OK.....
ReplyDeleteThank you for making me laugh... I totally understand you. And believe me with 3 kids and a full time job I don't even need that my home to be under construction to forget things. Never mind, be happy!

Like others, it took me a while to find the milk and I thought I was good at puzzles. :-)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say how much I love your blog. I so look forward to reading your posts when I see a new one has popped up. I think it's because your sense of style is just so interesting and I love your use of layers and patterns! It is so distinct too. Can't wait to see more of your work! - Amy
ReplyDeletehilarious! I totally didn't notice it there either ...
ReplyDeleteCheers & Congratulations Lauren. Beautiful work. I have a few projects in mind for the beautiful textiles.
ReplyDeletehahaha! thank you for the laugh.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny about the milk. I have put leftovers in my glass refrigerator jars and then put them back in the cupboard instead of in the fridge on more than one occasion. So much for doing things mechanically while thinking of something else.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
I died laughing when I saw that. Love it. I have no kids, so my mind is not as hectic as that most days, but I do have blistering headaches and have been known to put things where they don't belong a time or two. This one takes the cake...

I am laughing with you not at you. I have done the same type of thing before. It is called pre-occupied mind at your age. At my age it is called menopause, it only gets worse, but laughing at myself helps.lol,Kathysue
