And here is Chelsea's coat closet before:
And here it is now: Super-organized, she's even made an accessible spot for her cleaning supplies! I also love the clear hanging door rack because you can really easily see what's inside:
Sarah from Miss Trixie's Table (who's 37 weeks pregnant & nesting hardcore!) did a beautiful job too. Here's her before:
And here's her 'after': LOVE the color of course (she had it leftover in the garage) and it's organized to perfection... even the coats are color-coded!
Tina, below, took a plane Jane organizer & made it pretty & personal with some turquoise Martha Stewart twill ribbon. Go Tina!!
How cute are the baskets?!!
Christel, below, a home stager, took her once- average closet:
... And used this an adorable red check to make it fun & unique. It's adorable! She mentioned how important it is for staged homes on the market to have attractive & organized closets.
Yvalie took this dark space here:
And totally freshened it up into a bright & welcoming mud room. How amazing is the antique harp case she found to use for storage?!
She stores hats, gloves, mittens, bags, etc in there. I've never seen aything like this! So creative...
Kacey at She's.No.Martha uses the pocket door hanger and also mentions that having coat hooks at her children's height is a huge help & that thay hang their own things up 75% of the time - which is 75% more than happens in our house! :) Love these pretty glass hooks:
Devon of The Wisteria House sent me photos of her coat closet and it was when I saw this beautiful coat closet a year ago on her blog, here, with moss balls in the forefront, that I knew she had an amazing touch:
I can't get enough of the paisley fabric!!! JUST HEAVENLY and I'm jealous (boots too please! :):
So thank you everyone so much for being up to the challenge!! I LOVE seeing your beautiful handiwork & creative solutions!!!

lauren

ahhh i love closets!!! I lovee when they are organized. great post!! :D xx
Lauren thank you so much for the inspiration! I darted right out for the hangers, a basket and the hanging storage, and plan to paint the interior with some leftover mint green from our bathroom. And then I got mono. But we're already looking way better than before, and once I get the paint done, you'll have photos just in case you ever revisit your weekly projects.
Seriously loving this series.
love those! this maeks me want to start cleaning out my hall closet! I just purchased a billy bookcase from ikea as a shoe/purse organizer for my master closet and LOVE IT! An organized closet just makes every day start off better!
(check out my blog for pics of the closet! )
lauren, thanks for posting about my closet! it was exciting to see one of my projects on your blog. i can't wait to tackle the next project you have in store for us.
Thanks for including my closet, Lauren! You inspired me with the paint job in yours, but I had to add that to the bottom of the looooong list. However, after seeing that red check and that great paisley next to my boring, stark construction-white walls…I may need to rethink my priority list otherwise I might go berserk!
Have a great week.
Terrific inspiration. Love the plain Jane shoe organizer with ribbon.

I'm such a slacker. I never sent you pics of our closet. But I did organize it! I sent so many clothes to the haiti relief as well, so it felt really good to do both!
I'll be posting a bunch of before and aftern on my blog this week, so I hope you come back for a visit!
ps. I just ordered a black pair of hunter boots, because we are getting some rain soon! It NEVER rains here, so I want to be prepared. (well that's what I keep telling myself to justify the purchase haha!)
Happy Sunday!
This is my next project and I scared what I while find hidden in the back of my closet!
Thanks for posting my pics, Lauren! I LOVE seeing everyone's own creative takes on the project. I want to paint or wallpaper my closet soo badly! :)
Fantastic ideas !
More before and after pictures of Yvalie's house are featured today on Palazzo Pizzo.
Looking forward for your visit.

Hi Dear Lauren,
A wonderful post! The closet is an item about which is not so much written! A good idea of you! I love seeing other people's coat closet and I am agree we have to pay more attention organizing our closet!

How is your little baby???
Just LOOK what you started, Missy!
Lovely. All.
There is something about cleaning out your things that make you feel like you're having a fresh start. I just went through my closet and got rid of anything that I hadn't worn within the last year. It was hard to get rid of some things but if I'm not wearing it, it's time to let someone else get enjoyment from it. Thanks for being so inspiring, especially since you have a new baby!!

I absolutely love a before and after of a closet...now I've got the bug. Hmmm...dare I call a client who I know(already took befores)has disheveled closets and ask her if she's ready to get started??? A project that was put off till spring....
Wow it's so fun to see everyone else's projects!! Love all the creative colours!
super ideas here!
Great Ideas!...but I'm not a proponent of wire racks in closets.
Suggest using melamine covered particle board or wood and wardrobe poles instead. Wire racks cannot support heavy loads and tend to pull out of the wall!
Thank you for the inspiration! Your post provided the motivation I needed to organize my closet (three months after moving into our house). I posted pics over at my blog and linked to yours. Thanks again!
