Let it Snow!

Finally a real Winter!  This is the best one in years...

We're loving the snow (and snow days-  yay for being married to a teacher! )  It feels like it did when we were kids...  The pine boughs are touching the ground (and our cars) the snow is so heavy:  (This pic was taken before it had finished but you get the idea)

Our backyard is a "fairy land" :

We had fun making "Frosty" but he didn't make it through the most recent snowstorm:

Christian loves his daddy:

Justin's been hanging inside:

And we've all been spending lots of time in front of the wood-burning stove.  (So glad we kept it!!)...  Even little miss Ashby:

lauren

  3. Happy snow! I know, it is fun when there is a big storm like that! Actually, we live in MA and we always get slammed with storms...we didn't get a drop of it here! My husband was actually wishing for one over this weekend. He loves to watch football... the Super Bowl, while the snow is falling all around and he is trapped inside...as I prepare a super bowl feast-ya know- the nacho's ect... There is something about being snowed in that is appealing and cozy!

Your snow pictures are beautiful and so is your adorable family! I just got a "pang" looking at your new little one! I am having baby withdrawal since my daughter is growing up so fast at 11 yrs. It goes by sooo fast, I can't even tell you! Enjoy these years, they are precious.

Please stop by for a visit, I am having my first ever GIVEAWAY! It is the Elle Decor, So Chic book. My first attempt at it.

    Have fun! Jamilyn

  5. I'm in NJ and we still aren't dug out from Fri and Sat blizzard. But it is beautiful and so refreshing to see someone celebrating the season instead of cursing it.
    Enjoy!

  6. It's crazy isn't it? It is beautiful to say the least. We had a houseful of family riding out the storm with us. So fun! Maddie and her dad have plans for sledding and a snowman as soon as the temps warm a tad.

  18. So happy you're enjoying your weather, Lauren. It's all snowy doom and gloom out there as far as reports on tv would have us believe. As a native Southern California girl, I think I might be missing the gene that enjoys snow. So, to me, your little Justin looks like he feels the same way I do about it: "oooh, too cold!"

  21. Goodness, it looks fabulous. I can't even imagine what it would be like to live somewhere with real seasons! My boys would be joyous in that snow... just like your little darling. We're sweltering here in the Southern Hemisphere... impossible to sleep without airconditioning due to the humidity!
Enjoy the beautiful white stuff... the closest we'll get to snow is our cable transmission of the winter olympics. Hubby is counting down the days... his heart rate increases when he sees snow! We are so in the wrong hemisphere. A-M xx PS Your little girl... gorgeous.

  22. Lauren these pictures are amazing, I live in Calif. so these truly do look like a winter wonderland. My favorite is little Christian following after his Daddy,he looks so little with all that white around him. Thank you for sharing, keep warm. Believe it or not I am going to go outside and plant tulips and Hyacinths in pots on my front porch , it is sunny and crisp today in the 60s. All the different weather we are having across the country, strange and wonderful,Kathysue

  24. Your boys are both so cute. It is fun being married to a teacher - yeah snow days! Check out my post today as I put up a pic my 16 yr old son took of the creek near our house. I cannot believe how time has flown by. He was only 2 during the blizzard of '96. Michele
