H...I'm one of the lucky ones with a trusting hubby. He's a pretty quiet guy at the best of times. BUT... I've come to trust his opinion, too. There have been many times when I'll have an idea, pushing full steam ahead and he'll quietly make a suggestion that causes me to STOP... sure enough his idea is worth incorporating! Usually his input is about how to make happen something I've envisioned - I see the end result, he sees the path the get there. I've learned that just because he's quiet doesn't mean that he doesn't want to be part of the process. I'm a pretty lucky chickie!
Victoria: EdinDesign Interiors @ DesignTiesDesignTieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02561438683476880640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8030308239398272700.post-42307182517763185572009-03-19T17:29:00.000-04:002009-03-19T17:29:00.000-04:00I loved what Alexa Hampton said, "When my husband ...I loved what Alexa Hampton said, "When my husband makes a suggestion I say to him "I'm sorry have I seen your work somewhere?".

Great article Lauren! Usually at this point it's a very strong one and I end up compromising to make him happy. Even though I'm not always happy about it (our patio furniture which you may see in a future post). I'd like to say not too involved, but when it came to registering for china, he definitely had an opinion. Overall, we always talk about things before really settling. I normally do most of the manwork, pick out my faves and then he narrows the choice down to one. That way, I'm happy no matter what, and so is he.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07784657544280788901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8030308239398272700.post-33673115661217884182009-03-19T13:22:00.000-04:002009-03-19T13:22:00.000-04:00It seems like everyone has things pretty great!!! ...It seems like everyone has things pretty great!!! :) Jennifer brought up a really interesting point that in the beginning it's not always this easy & I really hadn't thought of that. Thanks for summing them up and giving your approach. You are absolutely right about sharing with your partner, etc. So, this advice to you and your followers is more from the "Mother Figure." I always say, "I usually always get what I want, it just may take me a while." That way it puts it out to the universe in a positive way and still gives me time to work on the hubby. tee heeHenri Loves Paris...https://www.blogger.com/profile/02242974764705773839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8030308239398272700.post-13070028483670391792009-03-19T12:09:00.000-04:002009-03-19T12:09:00.000-04:00Um are you a fly on the wall in my house right now...Um are you a fly on the wall in my house right now?? I'm at a stage now where Jon totally trusts what I want to do and lets me do most anything in our home, but we still have problems with certain things.
I always make sure to tell him to keep an open mind and not answer right away in what his opinion is. It also helps if I have pictures of what I want to do. It helps him visualize the room and get excited about the project.

Now on to more important things. Your house offer. 3 days! Geez don't they know you want an answer now. But it's probably a good sign that they are taking their time and thinking about it. At least they didn't resond right away with a no.

I know it is totally stressful. I hope you hear soon. :)High-Heeled Foot in the doorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16510460239869884038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8030308239398272700.post-73382412079810720862009-03-19T10:42:00.000-04:002009-03-19T10:42:00.000-04:00Great advice Lauren! my husband knows that if he c...Great advice Lauren! my husband knows that if he chooses the option I wasnt going for, he is in for a 4 hour discussion on why the one I wanted makes more sense...so he has learned just to say, okay whichever! If I ask him to do anything he gets annoyed and says "It's fine the way it is!!!" ha ha. So, it's all ready when he comes home. And, THEN, I have to explain how INEXPENSIVE it was. Boy, that's a workout! ha ha
BTW-what is the blue "unfloraly" fabric? I love it!KMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05603336106019535072noreply@blogger.com
